Who can apply to the BIP PROOF program?

 

Anyone affiliated with the University of Porto (U.Porto) or a U.Porto-linked third party.

Who can submit the application?

 

Any member (promoter) of the project team can submit the application. However, a main promoter must be designated, who will also serve as the primary contact for this call.

Who should be the main promoter?

 

The main promoter must be a team member with a contractual link to U.Porto or a U.Porto-linked third party.

What is required to apply?

 

a) You must complete the form available on the program's platform, which you can find at this link link

b) The application must be accompanied by a support statement from the organic unit or affiliated entity to which the main promoter is contractually linked.

Can I submit more than one application

 

No. The main promoter may submit only one application, but may be part of other projects as a promoter (team member).

Can I apply with a technology that has previously won the program,
but for a different application? but for a different application?

 

Yes, you may submit an application for a previously awarded technology, provided it is for a different application.

How many team members (promoters)
can be part of an application?

 

A project may have up to 8 team members (promoters).

An application includes promoters affiliated with different organizational units
of U.Porto and/or affiliated entities. If the project is
selected, who receives the award?

 

The monetary award will be allocated to the faculty or U.Porto-linked third party to which the main promoter is affiliated and which issued the support statement for the project application.

The project team includes promoters
from entities external to U.Porto or its linked third parties.
Can these promoters be part of the team?
Can the award be distributed to that entity?

 

Yes, they can be part of the team. However, the award cannot be distributed to that entity unless it is acting as a service provider eligible under the application.

What expenses are eligible?

 

Eligible expenses vary and are detailed in Clause 5 of the program guidelines.

What expenses are not eligible?

 

a) Expenses related to project dissemination and promotion, such as scientific article submissions, or participation in conferences and congresses;

b) Overheads and/or indirect costs related to the project;

c) Hours allocated to individuals who already have a contractual relationship, scholarship, or any other type of employment link to U.Porto, its linked third parties, or a project based at these institutions.
