The Leveraging e-health workforce by advanced skills (L-ead) Summer School aims at generating awareness and intends to raise the knowledge sharing about changes of healthcare systems in the digital age. With the help of change management and evidence-based policymaking, participants will understand the functioning of health systems, the context and the rationale of workforce development.

Students will be able to identify major challenges and innovative solutions and understand the impact of digital transformation in healthcare and its workforce. In addition, this Summer School also aims at facilitating the attitude change of the healthcare professionals, starting with students, while developing cultural sensitivity towards digital health capability.

The participants will have the opportunity to improve their knowledge about specific topics relating to e-health workforce development, including labour market dynamics, strengthening health systems, developing a sustainable health workforce, technology-driven initiatives and opportunities, digital healthcare ecosystems, telemedicine, and e-health solutions to support sustainable and effective care.

Who should apply?

BSc, MSc, and Ph.D. students, in medicine, health or pharmaceutical sciences or related fields, but also postdoctoral fellows in health sciences, practising health professionals or researchers who are interest in healthcare management and public health. The participants should be motivated in skills development and to use new and advanced technology and devices and should present a working proficiency in English (minimum B1 level by CEFR).

Programme

The Summer School will take place from 8 July to 19 July at the South Campus of IESE in Barcelona and Health Services Management Training Centre of Semmelweis University in Budapest University. Completing the course requires participation on both weeks as the Summer School covers a two-week programme (module 1 in Barcelona and module 2 in Budapest).

Presentations, interactive group work, case studies, and a digital health challenge are used as training methods; where problem-based learning approach and non-formal intercultural learning environment provides a lively training environment. By visiting a telemedicine clinic, participants acquire on-site experiences as well.

Costs:

No tuition fee is required. In order to have a student-friendly budget, the organisers will recommend fair priced accommodation options, plus an online platform where students can coordinate joint room booking (e.g. a group of 2-4)

Support for covering travel costs will be awarded to 10 applicants, which will be selected by the jury.
