"EIT JumpStarter 2019" is the name of the business ideas contest jointly created by EIT Food, EIT RawMaterials, and EIT Health. This initiative seeks to find, promote and support innovation activities developed by researchers, companies and start-ups in the mining and recycling, health - biotech, medtech, digital health, and food sectors.
The selected teams will be able to participate in a Bootcamp to develop skills related to business management and planning: models, pitching techniques, organizational design, structuring of work groups, among others. After the immersion program, the participants will present their final pitch before a jury, which will define the winners. The candidates in the fight for the podium will qualify to win monetary prizes in the value of ten, seven and five thousand euros that will be delivered to the first, second and third place, respectively.
Who can participate?
Teams with innovative business ideas in the areas of health/food/raw materials. A maximum of 2 members per team is eligible to participate in the competition.
The teams will receive financial support that will cover travel and accommodations to participate in the program.
Financing: up to € 12 000. Financing must be spent in 2019.
The relevant themes for the EIT JumperStarter 2019 are:
- Evaluation of exploration resources and raw materials;
- Mining in challenging environments;
- Improved resource efficiency in mineral and metallurgical processes;
- Recycling and optimization of the end-of-life chain of materials;
- Replacement of critical and toxic materials in products and for optimized performance;
- Design of products and services oriented to the circular economy;
- Biotech;
- Medtech;
- Digital health;
- Food.
The proposals must be submitted by March 15, 2019. Bootcamps will run from April to June in various European cities: Riga, Budapest, Ljubljana, Naples, Warsaw, and Madrid. More information here.
