The Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Reinventing European Healthcare Summer School (abbreviated as AI4EUhealth) addresses the complex challenge of recreating the European healthcare sector with AI. Using experienced-based co-design (EBCD), which involves the input of healthcare staff and patients, participants will discover how they can use AI to develop innovative projects that increase efficiency in R&D. Students will learn to develop solutions that bridge the gap between the proof of efficacy required to pass regulatory scrutiny and the statistical demonstration of likely effectiveness needed to satisfy health technology assessment bodies.

Who should apply?

Participants from a range of backgrounds such as materials, health, life science, business, engineering, and computing, or other related fields can apply.

In the application process, the candidates should provide a 50 to a 200-word outline of an innovative idea or project related to AI products and services. The idea or project might be expressed in terms of unmet societal needs which could benefit from the development of AI products or services for healthcare, the (re)deployment of an existing AI technology in an innovative healthcare product or service and currently unavailable but potentially marketable products or services involving AI technology for health.

Programme

A challenging mix of theoretical and practical modules in AI technology and innovation will inspire participants to develop business models of market-acceptable products and services using AI technologies.

The team with the best idea/business plan will be offered the opportunity to develop their project with the KTH – EIT Health incubator.

6 ECTS are awarded by Université Grenoble Alpes to Master and PhD students who complete the whole programme and take part in the oral defense (pitch of innovation project). If required, the Université Grenoble Alpes will transfer the ECTS directly to the participant’s home university.

Registration fee: 600€

The European Scientific Institute (ESI) has pre-booked single rooms at the Ibis Budget Archamps hotel, approximately 800€ for the duration of the school.

Financial assistance is available to the highest-ranked applicants.
