PhD Translational Fellowships program provides Ph.D. students the necessary skills to identify needs related to their Ph.D. project and convert their ideas into strong business cases that can attract investment using needs-driven innovation methodology.

Who should apply?

Participants that are currently enrolled as a Ph.D. student at a university/institution in Europe, have finished the 1st year as Ph.D. student and are researching a topic related to health or health care are able to attend the whole training camp.

Programme

Only the local pitch awardees will have the opportunity to attend the two-week training camp in Oxford (5th to 16th August). During the training camp participants will engage in lectures, workshops focused in entrepreneurship, pitch training, technology transfer and intellectual property, assessment of the commercial potential of the PhD project, identification of the optimal route to commercialization and networking activities which will attract and secure potential partners/investors to further develop and commercialize the new healthcare technologies. At the final day of the programme, an EIT Health jury will assess a final pitch competition and select awards for the best candidates up to six categories and up to 3.000€ per category.

Participants can also win grants and prices to further develop their Ph.D. project towards entrepreneurial success.

Selected applicants will earn a 1.5k€ travel & accommodation grant to participate in the PhD Translational Fellowships program
