Abstract: 

The present invention relates to the development of new Chiral Stationary Phases (CSP) denominated Xanthonic Chiral Stationary Phase (XCSP) and their applications to enantiomeric (isomers which present the same physical-chemistry properties) resolution by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC).

Background: 

The present invention relates to the development of new Chiral Stationary Phases (CSP) denominated Xanthonic Chiral Stationary Phase (XCSP) and their applications to enantiomeric (isomers which present the same physical-chemistry properties) resolution by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)

Benefits: 

This invention is based on a chemical structure from xanthonic nucleus bond to a chiral moiety to be used as chiral selector for HPLC column. To our knowlegde this is the first time that the nucleus xanthonic is refered for this purpose. This technology is based on a completly different type of molecules of those chiral stationary phases already available in the market. The advantage of xanthonic moiety as selector for chiral stationary phase is thes pecificity to separate some types of compounds with a higher power of resolution.

This technology is useful in drug development, pharmaceutical quality control and research involving chiral compounds as building blocks in assymetric synthesis. Potential industries include:
