The project “Empowering Women Entrepreneurship in Health Innovation” (WE Health) is a strategic project that aims to enhance the participation of women in health innovation and entrepreneurship activities, by providing capacity-building specifically tailored to their needs and by inspiring and supporting them to advance in their professional careers.  WE Health also aims at raising awareness of the positive economic and social impact of gender diversity in health innovation, while generating new ideas to foster a more balanced innovation/business community.

WE Health looks to fulfil the following objectives:

  • Developing new capacity-building and mentoring activities tailored the specific needs of women, taking into account the findings from our own assessment studies and literature review on gender.
  • Creating a dedicated space for all interested actors involved in promoting women’s leadership and gender diversity, through the establishment of the WE Health Network, a mentoring programme.
  • Using new communication tools and content to raise awareness of the need for more women-led start-ups and women health leaders for greater sustainable economic and social impact.

Who should apply?

This course is designed for women in STEAM, research and bio-entrepreneurship with at least three years of work experience; women that are interested in exploring their entrepreneurial ambitions and inner/outer leadership in health innovation.

Programme

The WE Health program 2019 is composed of three modules with a different thematic focus area addressing the needs of diverse target groups of women in the healthcare domain. Participants can select the module that best fits their needs, and are free to attend several modules and learn about the different perspectives. The modules available are:

  • Module 1: Unlocking your Innovative Potential

10, 11, and 12 April 2019 at the Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm (Sweden)

  • Module 2: Starting your Entrepreneurship Journey

03, 04 and 05 June 2019 at the Technische Universität München, Munich (Germany)

  • Module 3: Empowering Women Leadership in Health Innovation

16, 17 and 18 September 2019 at the IESE Business School, Barcelona (Spain)

The three-day-long modules will be packed with practical tools and real-life experiences. Networking sessions will allow participants to favour interaction and exchange of vision and views with other women driving innovation in healthcare. The program includes elements that specifically address women and are provided by women – through panel discussions and inspirational speakers, and complemented by personalised mentoring and coaching opportunities.

The online registration for Module 2 is now available and until June 3rd.
